Simona Manescu, PhD

Hello everyone and welcome to our clinic! I'm a neuropsychologist/psychologist certified by the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (OPQ). I obtained my doctorate in neuropsychological research and intervention at the Université de Montréal.

Working with gifted and twice-exceptional individuals, I have developed an expertise and passion for neuropsychological assessment and intervention within this field (i.e., gifted individuals with co-occurring disorders: ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, anxiety, depression, etc.).

I completed my internships at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute where I provided assessments to adult and pediatric clients, both inpatient and outpatient, suffering from various psychiatric disorders (i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar, borderline disorder, anxiety, depression, etc.). I also completed an internship in clinic specialized in eating disorders. During this internship, by means of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), I was able to help clients suffering from various eating disorders (i.e. anorexia, bulimia, etc.).

Having the opportunity to work in both the public and private systems has allowed me to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, enabling me to adapt my assessment process to their unique needs. I always strive to understand my clients' needs and cognitive functioning, which goes beyond tests and questionnaires. My goal is always to help clients better understand their cognitive profile and how it may affect their daily lives.

I specialize in neuropsychological assessments for adults, and I offer services in both French and English.
